6 common fashion mistakes men do

By no means, fashion and appearance it's the final denominator in your life. But by all means, it is an important factor when you meet new people. So, fashion choice can really affect your career, romance, and social life.

When people meet the first time, the first things they look at unconsciously are the body language and physical appearance and then the clothes. You can work on your body language and your physical shape which are hard things to do and it is a continuous work. But if you manage to come up with a fashion that is unique and appealing you can make an instant impact on the person you meet and even improve the overall first opinion of yourself.

As men are generally less interested in fashion, they tend to make more mistakes when it comes to basic fashion.

This is why put together a few tips on how men can avoid rookie mistakes. Let's dive in...

1. Never wear a short sleeve shirt with a tie

You can wear short sleeve shirts with a tie or a bowtie if it’s part of a uniform but if you want to impress on a first meeting or a job interview, it’s a big NO NO!

2. Shoes are important

Probably men are that obsessed with shoes as girls but these accessories are important. First of all, whatever type of shoe you are wearing make sure they are clean and polished. Second of all, try to fit your shoe style and color to your clothing. Or at least make that shoe a complementary accessory to your overall outfit.

3. Trousers and socks

Trousers should be long enough to cover your socks unless you wear shorts that unveil your shins. In this case, make sure your socks length is not distracting. Socks should cover your shins when you cross your legs in long trousers.

4. Belt and braces

Never combine these two accessories. Both are designed for one very functional purpose: to hold the pants. So, one should be enough for both functional and fashionable point of view.

5. Shirts and ties

If you are going for a formal look with a shirt and tie, make them match. For example, never wear a dotted shirt with a dotted tie. Make sure one these the two has only one color.

6. Sandals and socks

This is one is a classic. Never wear socks with sandals or flip flops. It is awkwardly eye-catching and why would you wear socks if you want your foot out in the air and then why would you cover it with a pair of socks that makes them sweaty.

An extra tip: Make sure the length of your tie is accurate. The optimal length for a tie is when it reaches your belt line.
